[ MOUNDCHAP'S STORY MEME ]
Here's a chance to hash your brain over a story you may have in the works. Each answer will be part of a WIP, just relax and let it flow!

Story Title: Requiem for a City (sequel to Devil's Battlefield)

What inspired you for this story:
a dead site's dead plot.

Give us 3 different words that describe this book:
time travel (in a non-Doctor Who way), life, death

Who's the main character:
Sara, tho there's other main charries.

What's his/her story, in one or two sentences:
An assassin travels to the city of Wyld Nites and finds out who she really is. Along the way, she fights against the repressive vampire clan matron bent on ruling the city.

Who's the antagonist:
Bara - the vampire matron that sees the city as a haven only for vampires.

Name some other characters:
Seldslyn, Bane, Hoshiko

What is a unique feature of this world:
It's set in our own world, mid to late 1990s, but with all the "mythic" creatures (shape shifters, vampires, dragons, ect) living among the humans

All right, what's this whole thing about anyways? Give us your summary as it is now:

It picks up where Devil's Battlefield left off. In essence, the city is still stuck in the city wide war that Bara threw it into. The city is protected by a mountain valley somewhere in Arizona. Sara is now stuck somewhere in the past and must travel through time to get back; her mission is to get back to Wyld Nites. On her way, she picks up those who belong to one of the many "mythic" creatures.

In the city, the war appears to be at a stand still. Neither side is acting against the other. Except for Danny, who had gone to a particular turncoat dragon and is not a vampire/shifter hybrid and is now seen as a traitor. He is doing what he can inside Bara's own forces to help his friends.

Now you've got our attention. Give us a memorable quote or two:

A bit of insight from Sara. I kinda based this off of what RA Salvatore does with his Drizzt books.

When I woke in that one room hut in 1224 Japan, I never expected to be a magnet to those who needed teaching. Ihachi, even as a half-Shifter, needed such lessons. I would find it near impossible to teach a young Shifter when the teacher was still learning. To teach one the same lessons I, myself, am still learning is an interesting thing to witness. Ihachi is a half-Shifter, the first of the species that I met. I do not know what the limitations are for a Human/Shifter being. I never encountered one in Wyld Nites, thus both Ihachi and I are learning her limitations together. I see the life I could have lived if I had not been left at the assassin school.

Backami. Backami needs a different type of teacher. I can teach him only so much about being a Werewolf. I am no more than a Shifter who knows enough of each species to pass by. Yet Backami expects me to be all knowing in all he asks of me. Perhaps, like me, Backami was orphaned; or abandoned, it does not matter. Thus, losing the ability and opportunity to learn on how to be a Werewolf. Yet Backami would not take it upon himself to seek out a pack from which to learn.

What do the Fates have planned for me and those I travel with? Aiko said something about friendship. Is that the true purpose of this trip through time? I may be a student in some ways; but to be a teacher takes skill and patient.
